|
David Woods was reared in ministry. He was 12 years old at his start with a family singing ministry called, "The Woods Kids." He ministered with his family singing and preaching in meetings both small and large. By the time he was 13 he had ministered in over 20 nations including smuggling Bibles into China. Whatever the Lord would open for his family, they would step through in faith. From a pilot movie for CBS to prison ministry and nursing homes. Over the years many men and women of God helped shape the way the ministry is today. His mentors included; Nora Lam, Nancy Harmon, Ralph Wilkerson, and many others. Today David Woods is the founder of Word for the World Church in Portland, Oregon. Word for the World Church was born out of a one year revival. 365 nights of preaching, singing and praying for the needs of a documented 15,000 people who came through the doors to see what was on fire. That revival birthed four churches, Word for the World being one of the four. Although Word for the World is not affiliated with any denomination, an executive board consisting of Christian men and women give oversight on a quarterly basis as the ministry's spiritual covering. The Woods family travels 35 weeks out of the year ministering to churches world-wide, produce a thirty minute television program called, "Release your Faith", and pastor the church. When they are ministering abroad, several retired ministers of like faith enjoy filling in for them. Although their congregation in David Woods attended JSBC, a then, Assembly of God Bible College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Today he holds a doctorate degree from Saint Luke's Evangelical Bible School of Augusta, Georgia in Biblical Studies.
