David Woods was reared in ministry. He was 12 years old at his start with a family singing ministry called, "The Woods Kids."  He ministered with his family singing and preaching in meetings both small and large.    By the time he was 13 he had ministered in over 20 nations including smuggling Bibles into China.   Whatever the Lord would open for his family, they would step through in faith.  From a pilot movie for CBS to prison ministry and nursing homes. Over the years many men and women of God helped shape the way the ministry is today.  His mentors included; Nora Lam, Nancy Harmon, Ralph Wilkerson, and many others.

Today David Woods is the founder of Word for the World Church in Portland, Oregon.  Word for the World Church was born out of a one year revival.  365 nights of preaching, singing and praying for the needs of a documented 15,000 people who came through the doors to see what was on fire.  That revival birthed four churches, Word for the World being one of the four.

Although Word for the World is not affiliated with any denomination, an executive board consisting of Christian men and women give oversight on a quarterly basis as the ministry's spiritual covering.  The Woods family travels 35 weeks out of the year ministering to churches world-wide, produce a thirty minute television program called, "Release your Faith", and pastor the church.  When they are ministering abroad, several retired ministers of like faith enjoy filling in for them.  Although their congregation in Portland today is small in numbers, they are a powerful prayer support for the ministry.

David Woods attended JSBC, a then, Assembly of God Bible College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Today he holds a doctorate degree from Saint Luke's Evangelical Bible School of Augusta, Georgia in Biblical Studies.

David met his lovely wife, Angela, as a result of preaching on television.  Angela came to the services after seeing him preach on TBN.  Today, their marriage of ten years is stronger than ever.  Angela travels everywhere David travels, with their two children Hannah and Julianna; ages 6 and 2.  Angela has her Bachelors in Business, ecommerce, and management.  She graduated with honors from Portland State University and has a SAT score of 1587.  She is accomplished as a classical pianist but spends all her time homeschooling the children while traveling with her husband on the road.

Today, David Woods host the nationally syndicated, live, four hour, through the night, prayer program called, "Pray America Live".  The popular program is heard from the Atlantic to the Pacific on broadcast stations in over 100 cities including; Las Vegas, Detroit, San Fransisco, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Lexington, New York, and many other cities. The program is nationally syndicated through Westar Media Group and can be heard every weeknight at 10pm (pacific) to 2am (pacific) on their website www.prayamericalive.com.  Pray America Live spearheads a national list of spiritual prayer intercessors that listen and pray nightly.

David, Angela and the girls reside near Vancouver, Washington, a suburb of Portland, Oregon.
